A Child's First Defense Against Harm Can Fit in Thier Back Pocket

Cell phones are a safety net that all children should have. They can fix problems that may occur and prevent new ones from happening. Cell phones can be used to trace a lost or abducted child’s location, but hopefully there will be things a cell phone can help a child do before a situation like that arises. Cell phones can be used to get in touch with an adult if the child is alone or fears that they’re maybe a dangerous situation developing. Parents can also use cell phones to get into contact with their child if they need to ask if a child arrived at a destination safely. There could be some drawbacks with giving children cell phones, such as cost, but there are even cell phones that are made specifically for young children that can have restrictions put on the phone itself such as internet block and the ability to only call the people listed in the phones contact set up by a parent.
