Works Cited, Still as Confusing

Chapter 7

For as long as I have been writing, getting sources done properly has always been a problem for me. I am not an organized person and like to have a formula or outline of sorts to follow. The format for siting sources in the paper and in the works cited is so specific and seemingly complicated to me.

The book provides a list of what is needed in a works cited, however the chapter does not provide an easy to use outline of the works cited in MLA format. It makes up for this lack of outline by providing many examples of sources in MLA format.

The book also suggests that you find a good way of taking notes when reading though a source. This allows for quotes and used paragraphs to be found more easily later on in the paper. Chapter seven also touches on in-text citations and tells a little about the MLA form of in-text citations.

One strength of the chapter is that it provides the reader with a little about the differences and features not only MLA format but also APA, CSE, and, Chicago. The chart the book uses is actually quite interesting because it states the features and gives an example of each.

After reading chapter seven and learning more than I ever wanted to about citations, I still lack a clear understanding and a outline for the works cited. Even while surfing the internet I find it hard to figure out the works cited cir mat.
