envision chapter one

Chapter 1 teaches how to analyze rhetoric in many different pieces of communication such as writings, images, and speech. It then teaches how to write what you have analized into a rhetoric essay. Being able to analyze rhetoric in pieces of advertisement is a good skill to have. It helps one understand exactly what all is being sold. Almost like reading between the lines. Of course, since this is English 103, the next step after analyzing rhetoric would to be to write an essay on it. Every essay should start with a thesis and end with the reader believing in your thesis. You will need to find details within the piece you are analyzing and use them to support your thesis. This may take lots of research but will be definitely worth it.
